Znamenny Chant is a traditional singing style used in the Russian Eastern Orthodox Church, characterized by unison, melismatic liturgical singing. The chant uses a unique notation system called stolp notation, with symbols known as kryuki or znamëna, and follows an eight-tone system called glasy.
