Zamrock is a unique fusion genre that emerged in Zambia during the early 1970s, blending traditional African music with psychedelic rock, garage rock, hard rock, blues and funk. The genre was heavily influenced by Western rock bands like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and Cream, but maintained distinctly African musical elements and themes.
