Samba-rock is a Brazilian dance culture and music genre that fuses traditional samba rhythms with rock, soul, and funk influences. It emerged from São Paulo's black communities in the late 1950s after exposure to rock and roll and African-American music, creating a uniquely Brazilian interpretation of international sounds.
