Old Roman Chant

Old Roman chant is the ancient liturgical plainchant repertory of the Roman rite, performed in early Christian churches of Rome and central Italy. It shares the same liturgy and texts with Gregorian chant but features distinct melodic characteristics and performance practices. This monophonic sacred music tradition represents one of the earliest forms of Western liturgical chant.
