Jovem Guarda was a Brazilian musical movement and TV show that began in 1965, featuring rock n' roll influenced by American and British bands but with softer, more romantic lyrics aimed at teenagers. The style became known as 'iê-iê-iê' after the frequent 'yeah' cries in the songs.
