Integral Serialism

Integral serialism, also called total serialism, extends Arnold Schoenberg's twelve-tone technique by applying serial organization to all musical parameters including duration, dynamics, timbre, and register, not just pitch. This post-World War II compositional method represents the most systematic approach to serialist composition, where every aspect of the music is predetermined through mathematical series.
